have a question about shooting at targets
i was up in maine this weekend and tried out my browning medallion in 30-06sprg one more time to see if she was still dead on. i was shooting my 165gr. sierra BTSP's. ( without a caliper handy ) it seemed to me that i was getting 1" groups at 100yds.
i have a luepold vari X II 3-9X40mm with a post sight reticle on her. anway when at 100yds the bullets where hitting at the little tip about the " T " mark.
when i brought the target into roughly 20 - 40 yds i aimed and i was hitting high on the deer target. about 2" high. i figured that since the 30-06sprg is not the flattest shooting calibers but would not be that high at those ranges. do you all think i should bring it down about 1" at 100yds???? because i always seem to have the porblems hitting game at those ranges cause the bullet hits too high or misses it altogether. especially i will be in a stand where they very well might be right under my stand .
i would appreciate all your opinions on this one and i am still gonna practice with those short shots.
