RE: If only I had $700
I held one this past Saturday. Didn't take the time to shoot it though. They look nicer, in my opinion, in person than they do in pictures. I prefer the look of wood, but that checkered carbon is different.
I did draw it several times, and one thing I noticed was it felt a lot heavier than it actually was. Even my 10 year old son, who loves to pull back on every bow he can get his hands on, commented on it. He yanked it back, asked what the weight was (it was 48 or 49 I think, either at 28 or 30--I forget), and said it sure felt like a lot more than that. Hard to explain--it didn't stack at all--drew very smoothly--it just flat felt heavier than it was. I would have guessed it 6-10 lbs heavier than it was.
My experience with bows that have carbon in the the limbs is very limited, but that's been the case on the very few I have drawn--it feels different, and stiffer for some reason. I shot a round with the owner of that bow, and with a fellow shooting an Adcock CRX, both shooting carbon arrows. My wood arrows were slower, but the targets didn't mind--at least if they did, they didn't say anything.
I'd definately have to shoot a bow with carbon lams before I ordered one--they have a different feel to me.
