Strictly for the purpose of rebutting your comment. What about a ricochet? Yes it is unlikely.

Here is an unlikely scenario. A friend and I were standing in the woods when I was younger, around 11-13. There was a bird nest in a nearby tree with a bird sitting in it. My friend picks up a rock and jesters that he is going to throw it at the bird. I aske him what the hell he was doing and told him that I didn't want him to throw it. He threw it, right into the ground, hard. It bounced off another rock that was laying there shot up into that tree and killed that bird. We both stood there in shock.

There is no excuse for those guns being released to the public even knowing that this problem occurs in only 1 in 1,000,000 rifles. I can assure you that no one atRemington would want one of thier guns to kill someone that I care about because of this problem.
