Right now you need to be in the hardwoods from what I've seen. I hunt in Montgomery county N.C. on a 160 acre cut over. We're seeing some deer in the morning but nothing in the afternoon. The guys next to us have hardwoods and are seeing deer all the time. We can't even get them to eat corn. Acorns seems to be all they want right now.

By the way, what area of NC are you from and what area do you hunt?
