"why go through the trouble ofputting in for a permit therejust to hunt dove.."

Just to hunt dove? Is that less of a hunt than any other type of hunting? Are dove hunters not your equal? My state doesn't allow dove hunting but I can imagine that there are people that are just as passionate about their dove hunting as you are other types of hunting. Maybe they want a limited use area to escape some of the crowds. Maybe it is closer to home. Who cares why they want to dove hunt there. My point is simply that I get tired of listening to fellow bow hunters gripe about competition or interference like we are the chosen few that should have exclusive seasons and priority over all other types of hunting. I think too many of us use the old "safety" excuse as a veil to hide behind when whatwe really want is to have the woods to ourselves. Just trying to get you to look at it from the "other side" because we had better allget on the same side.
i see your point, guess i havent seen someone as passionate about doves as most are about deer during archery season....
i frickin' am on hunters side, i always will be, every kind of hunting...though i dont know why when some try to turn every fricking worda personsays to be something negative...in my eyes it is a safety issue, no orange required, yes it is a safety issue......
i dont think i am better than anyone because i bow hunt, it's just another way i can be out in the woods, that is why i got into it, not for bragging rights.....i think that would be the reason most bowhunters got into it....
and i dont feel dove hunters and bowhunters are equal, by the looks of it, they get 3 times the oppurtunity that bowhunters get....but like was explained, it just makes sense to take more dove than deer, so i understand now.......might notlike it, but it doesnt change the fact...
and it still doesnt change the fact the most hunters aren't wearing orange and that the deer and turkey are going to be spooked....
bowhunting doesnt spook the dove for them.....why is ok for them to spook the deer and turkey for the bowhunters? it shouldn't be......but it is..... i do see both sides.....
my husband isnt much a deer hunter, he's more into the duck and dove.....hesees a safety issue.....now if all were to wear orange, then maybe i wouldnt feel as strongly as i do, but they DON'T.........
