I dip apple skoal and did during last season as well. Every deer i shot was while a dip was in or after i had been spitting on the ground so it deffinitly doesnt' hurt anything. Opening morning i had been spitting on the ground before daylight, at daylight i had 3 does below and around my stand including one doe right below my stand who was eating acorns about 8" from my spit and used dip on the ground. She even smelled it and went back to eating. Not sure if it attracted her to the spot or not but she didn't care if it was there. go ahead and tell him to dip it while on stand. I have been tempted to put acan out infront of my stand and see what happens as deer pass by it. Just can't bring myself to leaving a good can of dip on the ground to maybe get spilled. lol.
