AJ, the benefits I see, is I couldn't get good accuracy with loose 777 over 90gr. But with it I get great accuracy up to 120-130gr loose 777. Also I don't get the crud ring. The bad of it is you have to take it out about 5 or so shots thru it cause all the residue left starts displacing your area down below the stem and you can't seat to the proof mark on your rod. First time I used it, I shot 15 shots with no problem but noticed my accuracy dropping off. I was using 3 50gr 777 pellets with good accuracy, but wanted to get away from pellets.
