Default RE: Canada in the Rough

I have watched a few of the episodes and found them to be pretty good as far as hunting shows go. I'm a die hard hunter and it's nice to watch these to get you "in the mood" but they really aren't too realistic for us "true" hunters. What I mean by that is, we don't have the luxury of getting guides to do all the legwork for us. I'm not bitter so don't get me wrong, I realize it's impossible for the show to hunt all these different animals without guides. But sometimes it just makes it seem like I could shoot a monster antelope if someone was watching it for the last 3 years. I do have a couple of suggestions for you Chris:

1. Show a little more "realistic" pre/post-hunting tricks such as set-up areas, tree stand locations, feeding/bedding areas, rubs, scrapes & how to read sign. Basically get the guides to show us the legwork they do and how they go about scouting for the animals.

2. Do some comparison tests similar to those shopping bag girls. Take out 4-5 different products at different price ranges and put them through some real life testing. Take scopes for example, I have read a million posts on which to buy Leupold or Zeiss. Man wouldI love to see the 2 of them up against each other in different tests, light gathering, accuracy, warranty, etc. even against a Tasco & Bushnell...show us what is out there!! It's tough for guy's on a budget to try so many but I think your show could hit the spot.

3. I would love to see some good bird hunts, pheasant, grouse, partridge but more so, something we don't all do...blue grouse, ptarmigan, sage & sharptails.

4. Mule deer hunts!! it's always whitetails, I would love to see some in the prairies and in the badlands.

I do love the fact the show is Canadain and I liked seeing the antelope hunt in Alberta since I'm in that area myself. Keep up the good work and I'm sure the show will evolve into a real winner with the viewers if you keep it fresh and unlik the other stuff out there.

p.s. I'll help you in the testing area if you need a partner!!
