I recently purchased Kimber's 8400 in 300 WSM. These rifles are are a notch above the Remington's, Ruger's,Winchester's etc. as far as fit and finish are concerned, and given the right load they can shoot as good as any.They are fine rifles for a factory gun. You are correct on the information on Kimber's web site, it has a little to be desiredI would say go for one, you wont be disappointed.

Here is a picture of my Kimber, not a bad piece of walnut eh?
