I have a Marlin 336W in 30-30, and I am trying to decide what is the best distance to sight it in at. Would 100 yards be good.

Yes. Sight in approx. 2-1/2" high at 100yds. You'll be approx.
6"-8" low then at 200yds. No holdover needed out to 150yds.
And, don't worry about holding low. Not that much rise to worry about.
Note: This is with a 170gr. bullet with a muzzle velocity of approx. 2000fps.
