Cayugad, you could easily learn to hate that secondary safety. Experience I had with them was they tend to spin to an on-safe position as you carry them hunting. Replaced the end of mine with a lock-nut, actually still looked pretty good and eliminated the possibility of a no-ignition shot due that safety.
I noticed that exact thing just from my time with the Wolverine II. I was shooting it at the range one day and thought I'd broke something when it failed to fire the #11 caps. Turns out the back safety just turned itself enough to engage and the striker was failing to hit the cap. Now when I shoot I roll that tight, all the way to the back and it seems to stay there... I never thought about a lock nut in there. Something to consider... thanks.
