Anyone mount a scope on one? I've got two, one of which has been 'sporterized' (barell cut down a little). The base mounting holes on top of the rifle are very far forward...
I mounted a scope on a Norwegian Krag once using a Williams side mount with HCO rings.
By filing a bevel on the ejector bar, I got it to kick empties out to the right side (as seen from the ear), instead of straight up, as they do if unaltered. This allowed me to mount the scope over the center of the bore instead of offset. Worked great, and I see no reason why one could not do the same with a U.S. Krag.......
The Williams is one strong mount!!
