Default DMAP procedures a mess! Two years in a row!

Last year I applied online very early for ANF Dmaps for our entire group. Everyone got a coupon with virtually consecutive numbers except my 15 year old son. Called the forest service and they said it had been issued. Had to call the PGC and have them send a duplicate to the Forest Service so the Forest Service could resend it to my son. It came too late for the archery opener but I overnighted it to the PGC with plenty of time for early muzzy season and youth doe. Got a nastygram from the PGC accusing ME of trying to get a second DMAP (we have the same first name). Called the idiots and pointed out the different middle name and birthday. They said no problem, they were sorry, and they would send it. It got here the day after early muzzy and youth doe was over[:'(]

Now this year. Applied for our entire group online the first day it was possible. 6 ofthe 8 in our group got coupons with very close numbers. Nothing for the other two.

Collins Pine Co was even worse! They said on their website that they would NOT accept applications before Aug 15.we honored their rules and called on the 12th to seeif it could be postmarked before the 15th and still be elgible and I was told "oh we already havelots of em" Sent ours right away on the 12th. For two weeks after that, their website stillsaid Dmaps were still availablefor our first, second and third choice properties. Just got a letter saying "sorry we're sold out"

As far as the timber company, I realize that this is private property and they can do what they want with their coupons, but what a f__ed up mess!

As for the ANF, that land belongs to us,the taxpayers, and the FS has a duty to distrubute those things in a fair and efficient manner.
