It is very difficult to explain the skinning methods that are used in the industry, casing, dorsal cuts abdominal skinning etc.
casing is the most frequently used by the fur industry, that way both the belly and the back skin is preserved intact,

Casing you make an incision on the feet and follow along the hind legs ,foot to foot, remove the tail from the body by cutting underneath the tail ,cut the bones of the back leg fingers and beging to skin forward, think of the skin as a T-shirt you are pulling upwards to remove it.

When you reach the front feet cut the toe bones and skin the legs out,sometimes you need to make a relief cut on the front Legs.

Then Proceed to pull the skin over the neck to the skull area ,detach the ears and be careful not to cut the eyelids when you get to the eyes.

then proceed to the mouth living the inner lips also and follow to the nose and dettach the nose leaving the cartilage.
You must split the lips and the ears.

That is the skinning procedure for casing skins.
You must scrape all meat and fat from the skins no matter what method you use.

In the taxidermy industry, we preffered salting the skins and hang to dry in the shade away from humidity, then another salting after removing the first salting.

In the garment industry they simply air dry the skins and tan them, but you have a great risk of spoilage.
