I just read an article over at ArcheryTargets.com. They have an article titled "The Open Layered Target Myth". You can read it here :

In their test it took 19 shots with a broadhead before arrows started passing completely through The Block. IMO that's not acceptable for a $60 target. I suspect the Black Hole target would fare just as well under the same testing.
I keep going back to the old cheap solid foam targets at Wal-Mart for $15-20 for 2 targets. At that price I can practice my broadheads and not worry about breaking the bank. Since they are thinner targets I use a couple bales of hay behind the target to stop my carbon arrows.
