Why would you want a flashlight mounted to the gun?

All that stuff does is make the gun heavier and more cumbersome to shoot accurately. Besides that if I were an intruder the first thing I would shoot at would be a flash light cause it is either mounted on the homeowners gun or someone is holding it under their pistol with their weak hand and guess what is right behind the light........................... yep, your face.

I couldn't begin to count the number of people that have us mount lights, lasers, grips, and all kinds of other fandangled "tactical" stuff on AR's and shotguns. And not a single one of those people have any use what so ever for "tactical" gear.

Honestly what would a gun mounted flash light be used for in your application?
bigbulls,
There are some advantages to a flashlight on a tactical shotgun. If a family member just happens to be out of bed at night, that doesn't deserve a death sentance, and that light could mean the difference. Plus, if you're using a flashlight andknow where the intruder is, you can shine the light on him. Most tactical lights are bright enough that it would temporarily blind him, and would allow you to ensure it's not a family member. At this point, you probably caught them off guard, giving youthe first jump on the shot. I do agreethat it's just asininetowalk through the house with the flashlight on .The flashlight should only be used for giving yourself an edge, not the intruder.
