RE: fletching
hmm well lets see the first one that i knew what iw as doing came out fine,it would still shooti if it wasn't screwed to plaq hanging on my wall[8D]. before that one i was just grabbign a oak 2x2 and chopign away everythignt hat didn't look lieka bow, bad idea, hadone blow up and nock me out after it struck my chin, adn the other well it didn't make it either. with those directions you should be able to make your own, everyone i tell em to does fine.
ive sold a few longbows, id assume youd want what is called a flatbow by us primitive archers, it has a narrow deep handle, unlike the one in the tutorial, morelike modern longbows as they call em. what your drawlength and draw weight, keep in mind you loose 1-2 inches of draw with trad gear cause it is shot with a cocked elbo and with the bow canted. i coudl amke you a nice hickory flatbow for not too much $, the stave id have to buy would be around 45$ then say 40 for my work, and 10 for the string, so 95-100$ plus shipping, and it takes a while to make a good flatbow, those longbows in the tutorial are alot simpler. where you at? shipping tends to be a little expensive like 20-30$ dependign where you live.
