My advice is to do exactly what the surgeon tells you to do. Period!
I had rotator cuff surgery 2 years ago. Six weeks in a sling and then did the whole PT thing for about 4 months before even trying to pull my bow back. I'm good as new and pulling 67# comfortably. If you try to rush it and screw something up, he will just have to go back in to fix it. Then you will have a pi$$ed off doctor and a lot more recovery time. It's not worth it in the long run.
