The best advise I could give would be: Don't be afraid to ask questions, you're not expected to know it all right off the bat.

Fear of looking dumb and asking "silly" questions kept me from bowhunting for nearly 6 years. Everybody in the archery shops/clubs seems to know it all and it can seem overwhelming to a beginner.
