Just another thanks for all the great info. I just ordered my Deutsch Drahthaar puppy yesterday and it will be ready sometime this winter/spring depending on when the bitch goes in heat. It's been a search that has taken the better part of 2 years to sort out. It's kind of funny though. As soon as I knew, I knew.

I had looked at a number of dogs prior, Brittany, Griffon, Chessies, Pointing Labs to name a few. I came extremely close to purchasing a Chessie, but something just prevented me from pulling a trigger on the dog. It was that event just recently that prompted me to post this message. Now comes the agony of waiting, but I have a ton of work to do here to prepare for the new puppy not to mention a bunch of hunting do to.
