Default RE: Blaze Orange In NY

Im surprised I havent heard any comments about my post. Its not about you being able to choose to wear orange. Its about the other guys right to be able to see you. And Im not talking about identifying your target, that should be a given. Its about shooting at a known target and not knowing a person/hunter could be beyond it. If you see a buck run across a field, and see orange beyond it, you dont shoot. Now, with noorange, does that mean no hunter??? Why should MY life be ruined because my responsible shot still hit a hunter not visible to me, when some blaze orange wouldve prevented it? Im illustrating why it isnt up to you to choose. Youre actions, or lack of action, affects others around you, thus the mandate.

As for turkey hunting, guys have used BO decoys, tree ribbons and backwards vests for years. I dont see any reason to change that now. Poor hunting ethics, like moving in on someone while turkey hunting, kills many hunters. It all comes down to accountability, and sadly, laws get enacted to at least try to balance the playing field.
