RE: Feathers or Veins
Lx lungbuster, vanes are supposed to be faster downrage, 40+ yards. Feathers are supposed to be faster in short range and (maybe, it's debatable) provide better stablization for broadheads. How many of us bowhunters really need to take 40+ yard shots? Vanes, IMO, are better suited for targets.
I like feathers for a couple of reasons: first, they flex if your arrows nicks something like a long blade of grass, a twig, your rest, etc. whereas vanes don't (ie. feathers are more forgiving). Second, they're lighter than vanes. Third, they look much, much cooler. I still have to get some barred turkey feathers! Waaaayyyy cool!
