i am not sure if this is the gun you are talking about. but i havethe h&r ultra varmint in a .223. had the trigger redone and added a 2-1/2 to 10 powertarget scope.i am very happy with it. i can pop clay birds at 300 yards all day long with it. it really likes the pmc 55 grain target loads. also had good luck with the winchester 45 grain hollow point varmint loads. they are the 40 pack in the white box. i just bought a 200 pack of federal 50 grain hollow points but have not tried them yet. i can let you know how they work also. over all pretty nice shooting gun.
