Well I tried another barrel and it worked like a champ. I did stick a toothpick in the holes from the bottom side and I could see it inside the barrel. Would that be considered cleaning them?

I did notice when I shot with my original barrel it was hard to pull the bolt back with the empty hull still in the barrel. So this and the borrowed barrel working makes me believe that it is the pitted chamber that is causing my problems.
