RE: PA bear hunter killed in Alaska
I heard about this sad story from my brother. This guy was a teacherin my nephews school in Fairfield and he had him for a class last year. Seeing that my nephew is an avid bow and gun hunter, I'm sure that he had a different bond with his teacher than some other students had. My sister-in-law told me that he was too up-set to attend the funeral service.
It happened here in NH two years ago just after x-mas.Bob owned a taxidermist / large sporting goods store in Manchester, which I worked at and knew Bob well. While hunting boar on a large private hunting club he was shot dead by another member ofthe hunting party. This casewas mistaken identity! The guy thought he was shooting a boar and ended up killing Bob with one shot directly to the chest.
They call these accident!when in fact allit is, a few careless idiots in the woods. Makes you really sit back and think who you're spendingtime with hunting. I use to get laughed at and picked on when I show up at our camp wearing my pumpkin suit. Now just about everyone in our camp has one!SAFETY FIRST
