I've hunted the wyoming side of the blackhills, actually took my first buck there when I was 14. Just east of the Wyoming border is excellent, there is plenty of public land to hunt there. Some towns close to the border are Hulett and Sundance. Also do not be afraid to ask landowners to hunt their property, I have had lots of opportunities this way.
