Default RE: anyone here eat turtles?

When I was a youngin my mawmaw and pops would take me out turtle juggin. We caught Huge snappers and soft shells mainly and somtimes we would catch those little yella bellied sliders. My pops would clean them and thenmy mawmaw souped them, fried em, or bake them into a pot pie type of dish. It was all good...My pops told me that when his father "my Greatgrandfather"was young he had caught a realy big snapper. He said that it had a strange knot on its head that would not alow it to pull its head back into its shell. When they cleaned it they investigated the knot by cutting it open. Pops said that when they cut it they found a flint arrow head....Was Pops pulling my young leg?...I dunno..but these things can live for better than 100 years. (According to the Discovery channel) so its possible.By the way my wife and i actualy stop to get box turtles out of the road so they dont get hit...Its a good carma thing, for good luck in my hunting...
