Default RE: Want to purchase a new Knife

I don't know if Iam talking to the right audience on this or not.
I have being a pofessional taxidermist for 40 years in Miami fla.
I mount 300 whitetails a year and a bunch of exotics and african game + Saltwater and fresh water fish.

Iam Not into brand name ,Iam into efficiency and sharp instruments.
A few years ago ,I hunted Wyoming and amongst the guessts in the Ranch I hunted, there was a feller who makes those fancy knives some have mentioned here.

He gave me a lesson in knives and making knives.
The first day 11 deer were taken and I took mine also, this guy pulled a $120 knife he was trying to sell me and said well you being ataxidermist can appreciate this knife.
So I pull my old faithfull shop skinning knife, a 4 inch Vitorinox plastic handle that sells for $4.99 cents, they all laughed at me and made some derrogatory remarks.
we went to skinning, 30 minutes later my deer was skinned and quartered, they were still into skinning legs and sharpening their fancy knives.
after watching them for 2 hours struggling to skinned their games I gave them a hand with my $5 knife and skinned 5 deers in 1 hour.

The remarks or questions I got was, Where can I get one of those blades ?

And Of course I'll tell you what I told them , "Just about any Taxidermy supply house."

Now when one brakes I simply make it smaller and put a deer tine as a handle.

Good luck
