I'm 15 years old, and I took my first deer last season with a shotgun. This year I'm using a bow, so I'm skipping out on the rifle. I had the option to use a .270, but to tell you the truth I don't really see as much a challenge or accomplishment in pointing your crosshairs at a deer a hundred yards out and shooting. Bows are going to be my only way hunting. All the bowhunters I know have told me that "once you go to bowhunting, there's no going back." I have had a lot of fun shooting bows.
