i realize that the formula for this home made herbicide is meant to use typical items found in a typical household. everyone has salt, vinegar and dishwashing liquid.

the dishwashing liquid is probably included because of its surfactant properties. but what if someone substituted some "non-ionic surfactant" instead? i have a gallon jug of that, which i use for spraying. and what if i included some "crop oil"? the crop oil is something else that some of the things i spray say on the label to include when preparing the mix. i think it's supposed to help carry the actual herbicide from the outer leaf of the weed into the stem.
