I have a remingtom 270 and have found the recoil to be very tolerable (and I am a small guy). I have found through different articles, that a 270 produces about 17 ft-lbs of recoil while a 30-06 produces about 20, so there is a little less recoil for the 270. Good luck with the new gun.
