I guess it depends on what elements your in. Polar fleece here is useless as an outer garment cause the snow sticks to it. I have wool on from my solks, pants and jacket come Nov. I myself like columbia gear as I can slip through the bush nice and quiet. Layer up and use wool or even your neighbors wife will work too.
