I have called in a couple bucks in early October(10-15th of OCT) with just some light tickling of a rattle box. On both occasions the bucks had slipped by me out of bow range. In both cases I waited until they disappeared from sight, couple weak grunts and tickled the box for just a few seconds and picked up my bow. Both came in on a string and were shot at under 10 yards.
