Actually, northwest and north central alabama was the last places in alabama to develp deer herds. When I lived in Alabama in the 1980's, there wasn't much deer between Huntsville and Athens but now it's covered up. All my deer hunting in alabama was over around Gurley and princeton and also a little down around selma.
