Go to your local shop and buy a spool of serving,it will be much more effective and last much longer then dental floss.
Hopefully someone will correct me if im wrong but maybe a dab of fletching glue will work for the floss.
Extreme is absolutely right. By yourself a spool of good quality serving material. It may seem a little expensive at first, but unless you're building strings, it will last you a very long time for repairs and serving in peeps. You can burn the ends to a ball and end that problem right there.

I've had a spool of Diamondback that is three years old and seems like it is almost anendless spool.
