i had that very same problem with my bdl 30-06. i had it checked out and i believe it was averaging 6.5#s. they're pretty easy to work on just about any gunsmith can take care of it. i had it worked on and got it down to 4#s with absolutely no creep. the guy did it for free so i was happy. it really doesn't take long to do it either. at most i would expect about $25 for it. good luck with it.
