you shoot??
Last Sunday, Tyler and I snuck in an area to do some up close scouting of a couple bucks we spotted earlier. My intention was to get within 60 yards of where they were bedding and feeding as my camera takes decent pictures out to that far. Well the bucks got a little too close for comfort at 20 yards and 25 yards but we did manage to get out of there without getting busted.
I've seen quite a few posts over the years on " which one would you take "... high and narrow or wide and good mass. Once we got out of there, I asked Tyler which one he would have taken. I'll give his answer and mineat the end of the post.
Just curious as tohow others would have choosen.
Here the senerio...
You see these buck at 60 yards. You are bowhunting on the ground ( not much for trees here ). Sun is at your back. Wind is in your favor but dropping off.
The bucks head your way...
First buck stops at twenty yards with the second behind him at 25 yards.
The high/narrow buck moves to the side but still 20 yards out and presents this shot oppertunity...
The second buck stays where he is at in this position at 25 yards...
Tyler said he would have taken the first one that presented a good shot. Good answer and smart one. I on the other hand ( at the time it was happening ) would have held out for the wider one. He never gave a better shot oppertunity thenin the last picture. I would have ended up passing as I didn't like the shot he offered.
