RE: bear hunting
If you're hunting over bait, can't help, but if it's scout and hunt, then look for trails on ridge tops similar, but wider than deer trails. Lokk for rocks and logs turned over recently also. If there's any mast crops, look for trees having been climbed and broken limbs. You can also look for trees that have been clawed for territorial markings, and of course , look for bear scat. The scat can tell you what they're eating. Just take a big bite...just kidding, just take a stick and poke through and you can see if it's blackberries, etc. they're feeding on. Be prepare to cover a lot mor area than for deer as well.
