I will shoot either, but prefer feathers. If I fletch them my self they get tru flight feathers with a slight offset. They are more forgiving, lighter and have better control than vanes do.

I don't hunt in crappy weather, so the water issue doesn't effect me. However I shoot in crappy weather and they don't seem to shoot any different wet or dry.

I prefer aluminums as well, go figure.
