I think the silent majotity you spoke of is still quiet. That being all the folks who use the 270 and have no intention of changing whats always worked for them. I bet when Elk season opens, there will be as many 270 shells sold as there ever was. I prefer the 30-06 but if it were up to a flip of the coin on opening morning and the 270 won the toss, I would load it up and go. We are close though, your minimum is my Maximum.
