I have a Mini 30 and I can get 2 to 3 inch groups at 100 yards using either peep sights or a scope. Ammo is cheap and they're fun to shoot. I buy Wolf 7.62X39 for less than $80 for 1000 rounds. You can have a lot of fun using a 20 or 30 round magazine. Accuracy really goes out the window once the barrel gets good and hot. I've used it on deer and it's adequate. You would be better off getting a good bolt action and it would be a lot cheaper. I think the Mini 30 is over priced.
