RE: Fall Turkey Strategies
first i would do some scouting and find sign of some flocks.. lots of scratchings and so on..now for calls yes any calls will work, but i like to use my mouth call and do kee kee runs.. now just like Criggster said do LOTS of walking to find the flock and break them up, but i found the key is to really break them up good try and get the birds to go in every direction.. once you do that sit down and wait, normally in the early season they will start calling right after you break them up, then start calling w/ them. they should come running in.. now after they have been broke up a few times in the season it takes longer for them to start getting back together and they get more quiet so keep that in mind.. now after you break them up and u dont hear them calling id wait 10 to 20 min and start calling a little.. but if there are a lot of young birds in the flock they will be going nuts and you can also.. that should get you started, good luck to you this season.. oh by the way what state are you hunting??
