You said that when you need to put your scope back on, you just put it back on, then bore-sight it, then go hunting? remember that bore sighting is not near as accurate as acually taking some actual target shots (it is just to get you"on paper") and I would never recommend that someone go hunting with a rifle that has just been bore-sighted and not actually shot at a range or whatever. I guess if the range of field condition shots you were actually going to take was limited (under 50 yds?) then it might be ok, but I wouldn't trust it. just my opinion

I have taken the 4x32 scope off the 30-30 and hunted with open sights. Then if I wanted to use the scope again, I'd put it back on, bore sight it,
AND ALSO properly sight it in at the range. I wouldn't dare go hunting with a scope that wasn't sighted in! [&:]
