I got stranded in a tree stand one time.
Don't remember what brand it was however it was a climbing stand. The bottom portion had a safety strap and it broke as I started down the tree. Needless to say the bottom portion WENT sliding down the tree and there I sat,20-25' on a huge pine.
If I hadn't carried 50' of rope with me, I'd probably still be there picked to the bone.
