I have said this before and I will say it again, your treestand is not the place to save money. Spend a few extra dollars and get a good quality product, you won't regret it when you are 25 feet up a tree. Later model treestands have improved over earlier modelsin features, ease of use, comfort and safety. Summit is a good manufacturer, and I use a Viper as well, but any of the other good company's stands will be better now than even a 2 or 3 year old stand, in my opinion. Also invest in a quality safety harness, if your stand doesn't come with one, and use it every minute you are climbing and in your stand. It can save your life.
