Schoolie if you are tied by financial restraints (lol get used to it because it only gets worse with a wife and kids!) then perhaps you might entertain a 700SPS in 300Ultra? We have one at work that is only $439.
This would be an even worse gun for a one gun hunter.The high cost of factory loads,short barrel, life and substancial recoil would prevent ,most people from obtaining the shooting practise necessary to take advantage of the flat trajectory that this cartridge offers.However for an experienced handloader with several guns to practice with,it is a great cartridge for long range shooting.I own two 300ultramags myself.
