A few questions about CO bowhunt....
Alright guys and gals... I have learned a ton from all of you... Thanks everyone for all of the tips and secrets.. I have a few more questions..
First off.... When hunting elk in the morning, do i need to set up where they are feeding in the morning, or would it be better to try to ambush on their way back to the dark timber?
Second... If i find elk feeding in the morning in a particular area, will they head up the mountains to bed and then slowly work there way back down to that area in the evening, or do they come directly back to that area when they come out in the evenings?
I am asking these for the simple reason of, I am unable to do any scouting prior to my CO bowhunt .(first week) We are totally unguided and have to find the elk and go from there. I want to know as much as I can about elk tendecies in order to be prepared for my hunt... Also, I have noticed that our area has had no rainfall for all of July, I am guessing water holes are the way to go....
