RE: UPCOMING ELK HUNT
Hi Bass B
the 125 Zwickeys are a great head and I would use them as I am in favour of a cut on contact head as well. I use my Lansky sharpening system to put an edge on them and them strop them on a peice of leather when I am at home. I bought a quick sharpening system that I carrying in my pack for those require touch ups every other day or so, this is a carbon sharpener that has a built in V that you just run the blade down. Keep in mind these do a great job but they tend to remove a bit of steel in the process as well.
I have friends that only (and swear by it) file sharpen their broad heads and state they like the serrated edge it leave, I know these are sharp and like my own heads I am very careful when handling them (scars are just badges of honor and sometimes stupidity).
When out hunting your blade will oxidize and will naturally start to loose its edge and with taking them in an out of your quiver you will want to touch up your blades on a VERY regular basis.
Good luck
Eric
