Tru Ball'sChappy Boss is not an actual back tension release. It is a thumb trigger release. It is an excellent release though. I actually bought the Ultra Extreme, which is very similar however has a more swept back design for the fingers, and shortens the head up on the release by 7/16" of an inch for a little more draw length. Other than that, it is pretty much the same. I have not used it for hunting, but I know lots of people that do and have no issues with the loud click. I would not hesitate to use it for this. I also feel that the release breaks cleaner with less travel than the other similarly priced Carter's and other releases, it makes it hard to anticipate the release. Also, get the Talon head, it is well worth it.
