J-Locks have recently been discontinued on all models due to consumer pressure...nobody liked them. I spent the last weekend at the DFW gun show looking at Remingtons....some of the new ones in dealer stock still had them and some didn't. The higher serial numbers did not have them. I was looking for a 700 BDL in .243 and finally found one without the J-Lock at Academy that had just arrived at the store in the last couple of days. It was actually $50 less expensive than the ones at the gun show with the J-Lock. Color me a happy shooter!

I have also read on the forums that the new CDL does not have the J-Lock....not true...the older ones do have it, but the newer ones do not.
